This coaster is made of a small ceramic tile,, handpainted with alcohol ink and decorated with custm made prints, which is then enclosed in glass-like resin. The coaster is heat resistant and safe for your coffee and tea. It can also serve as a classy unique wine coaster. You can match it easily with one of the bowls oe the plates in the collection.

The theme is inspired by the ocean blue colours in the Japanese shinhanga and hiroshige as well as the natural beauty of the Mediterranean sea. The deep sea is dark and mysterious,. It is waves and clouds, but is also inhabited by some whimsical fauna and flora straight from my imagination.
HOW IS IT MADE?
The ceramic tiles are hanpainted with alcohol ink, then decorated and encased in transparent resin, giving it a glasseffect and glossy finish. Each coaster is then additionally reinforced against high heat and scratches, making it more durable.
I finish by manually polishing the edges to gives it arefraction effect (yes, it's polished by hand).
In total - it takes about 4 days of work to make each coaster, and you need to add to it an extra week for the hardening of the resin.
All of the products used are non-toxic and safe for serving food.
Hand cleaning only - please avoid the dishwasher and the microwave.
